[DCAD] Kenya IGF Inclusion: A Spot on Multistakeholderism

Greetings,

On the 1st of August, 2024 Kenya hosted its local 17th edition of the IGF,
the Kenya Internet Governance Forums (KIGF2024). We had productive
discussions and engagements revolving around the theme: Building Kenya’s
Multi-Stakeholder Digital Future.

In particular, I was impressed by its continued and dedicated efforts
toward inclusivity.

KICTANet, the convening organisation in partnership with various industry
stakeholders, and through its Disability Program, has always ensured the
involvement of persons with disabilities at the forums, with this year
recording higher participation of persons with disabilities.

The KIGF commits to ensuring accessibility extends beyond PWDs - it aims
for the comfort and inclusion of all attendees. Much thanks to its
multistakeholder advisory group (MAG) of which I am a member, the event was
meticulously planned for inclusivity, and aligned with the DCAD
accessibility guidelines, allowing for an inclusive and accessible
experience, from room arrangements and registration processes to sessions.
