Dears,
I am Oyuntugs visually impaired from Mongolia. it has been long while.
i really want to announce this just starting initiation which is an
innovation for Mongolian context and attract potential supporters and
sponsors.
Let me please share what i am working on right now. Working with the
National university of Mongolia aiming to establish an ever first and
comprehensive disability resource center for the students with
disabilities.
our actual actions started from November 22 with an advocacy event.
main results achieved from the two week's advocacy events organized by
my NGO Firefly House, the university and Fulbright Specialist, top
management acknowledged the situation and further independent unit.
so far, I have been conducting the individual accommodation counseling
sessions, case writing, emailing accommodation letters to teachers and
professors, monitoring the implementation of accommodations,
developing contents directed to teachers and students.
to be honest, implementation is very poor because of all the things
are starting from zero in terms of changing attituded, razing
awareness, laying fundamental base of some few accommodations such as
CAR Service, Sign language, amplification sets in the classroom, book
conversion etc.
both human resources preparation and equipment's are needed to provide
these accommodations.
is this event in Japan online or actual? would it be any possibility
from DCAD to support the students with disabilities at higher
education of Mongolia through Firefly House its cooperation with the
universities?
Respectfully,
Oyut.
