The Dynamic Coalition on Accessibility and Disability (DCAD) is a global, multi-stakeholder initiative under the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF). Our mission is to promote digital accessibility and ensure meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in Internet governance processes. We work collaboratively with advocates, technologists, policymakers, and disability-led organizations worldwide to advance inclusive policy, capacity building, research, and awareness. Dear DCAD Team,

 

Warm greetings.

 

My name is Sheila opiyo, an advocate and passionate champion for disability rights, inclusion, and mental health awareness. I currently work with the Free a Girl World Network, focusing on mental health, wellness, and education inclusion for persons with disabilities. I have also collaborated with organizations such as the Kenya Network of Women and Girls with Disabilities, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, and Article 48 Initiative Organization to promote equal access to justice and representation.

 

In addition, I host and manage the “Beyond Me” podcast, where we raise awareness about different types of disabilities, share inspiring stories, and challenge societal barriers faced by persons with disabilities.

 

I am reaching out to introduce myself and explore opportunities to connect and collaborate with DCAD at a global level. I believe that by working together, we can strengthen advocacy efforts, promote accessibility, and advance the inclusion of persons with disabilities worldwide.

 

I would greatly appreciate the chance to connect and learn more about DCAD’s initiatives, and how I might contribute or engage in joint programs or networks.
