[DCAD] Introduction - Buhari Abubakar

[Dayyabu Tanimu]

My name is Dayyabu Tanimu, a Deaf Researcher, Disability Rights Advocate
and Journalist. I am passionate about helping people, especially the Deaf
and persons with disabilities (PWDs). I have been working hard to make sure
that people in my community get the support, education, and opportunities
they deserve.

I am serving as the Secretary of the Bauchi State Association of the Deaf
in Nigeria, where I work on initiatives that promote Deaf leadership and
accessibility. I am also the Special Assistant for Initiative for Persons
with Disabilities at the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS)
National Headquarters, where I work on policies and programs to support
people with disabilities.

Aside from advocacy, I am also involved in journalism and digital media. I
founded Katagum Dailypost, an online news platform that gives a voice to
the people of Bauchi State. Through this platform, I aim to share important
news and stories that matter to my community.

My dream is to use my skills in education, advocacy, and media to make a
real difference in my society.
