Uganda
To: Internet Society Foundation <foundation at isocfoundation.org>

This is to request for the assistance of $35000 from digital lovers meant
for helping us to spear head our voluntary mobile digital literacy training
program for the youth, women and children that is ongoing in hard to reach
areas of the western region of Uganda. The program is the ability to
navigate, interpret information forms, contribute information to and
communicate through the mobile internet and to orient themselves in the
space if the internet of things and orgmented reality. This program goes
beyond techinical know how referring to the knowledge and skills with
attitudes that allows both children, women and youth to both be safe and get
empowered in an increasingly digitalisational world. This encompasses their
play, participation, socialization, searching and learning through digital
technologies.
We have realized how digitalisational fluency have major roles to play in
achieving gender equality, enabling catalyzed communication and networking
on the global scale with the ubiquitous nature of digital techinology as
away of bringing gaps and access to digital resources as well as knowing
how especially to rural women, youth, children including PWDs which can be
ensured if we join efforts in providing the necessary digitalisational
tools and equipments for these community members to acquire digital
literacy skills for improved self reliance and sustainability in Uganda.

Following this program, over 500 youth, women and children including PWDs
have acquired practical digitalisational knowledge and skills this year
through practical trainings which has been through hiring of laptops, and
collecting of some other people's smartphones for trainings.

Importance of the program:

Digital Litrancy program for the women, youth, children including PWDs has
relatively led to creativity, develop critical thinking and mad the
trainees better at problem solving. Further more, knowledge and skills of
digitalisational tools such as tablets, smart boards, laptops which have
empowered them and provided them with asafe and connected environment

Challenges:

Hiring of the training digitalisational tools is so expensive for us to
meet it's costs as individuals who have amission of providing the necessary
digital basic knowledge and skills to the youth, women, children including
PWDs in uganda for them to fit into the digital world of tomorrow and today

Way forward:

Fundraising of $35000 has started for providing the necessary digital
literacy tools and equipments of the program in Uganda.

The community members have provided free land for the sites of internet
digital literacy training hubs in five districts of the western region of
Uganda for their children, women, youth including PWDs to attain
digitalisational knowledge and skills from.

Conclusively, we kindly seek for the support of 35000$ from all
organisation who have amission in the digital world for enabling us to meet
our digitalisational mission too as visionary digital lovers under internet
society.
