Dear DCAD,
Judith wrote to me this morning explaining the urgency to submit a request
for the DCAD session at the IGF. I've copied that part of her message
below, together with my reply. Considering our current initiative to
breathe new life into DCAD, I thought it might be a good idea to move this
part of the discussion onto a wider stage as a way of inviting members to
think about what they want from DCAD.

"As a DC we are guaranteed a session but had not realized that we have to
apply before the deadline, which was yesterday, to get our session. I wrote
to Celine, the new assistant to DC's and asked her if we had to submit
before the deadline and she said we did so I quickly put something
together. The form does not send us a copy of the proposal and I thought
it would, so do not have a copy of it. But it is just a review of the work
we have done this year at DCAD and what we hope to do in the future."

DCAD sessions have always been valuable for the opportunity they provide
for members from all over the world to share the ideas and initiatives from
their various locations that have appeared over the year just past. A
generous portion of the available time should be dedicated to that
function. A number of speakers can be pre-selected (self-nomination through
the DCAD list??) but there should still be time reserved for speakers
contributing spontaneously.

Over to all of you :-)
