Dear All,
Thanks first of all to those who attended the meeting yesterday. To those who could not attend for any reason, Judith has already shared the Caption First and AI transcripts with you and Joly will share the Zoom recording.
The key points are summarized below:
[1] The proposals on Governance and Code of Conduct documents were adopted. Lidia is leading a team to do both. Judith, andrea and deidre volunteered to work with her on this. Any DCAD member interested to contribute in either of the documents, can contact Lidia at: best.lidia at gmail.com <mailto:best.lidia at gmail.com> She is starting work on the two documents this weekend.
[2] Dr. Muhammad Shabbir (I) was elected Coordinator and Judith Hellerstein Co-Coordinator.
We are thankful to the members who trusted us to revive the DCAD and coordinate its activities.
[3] Judith is working on annual report of DCAD and will send it to DCCG before the March 5 deadline.
It will first be shared with DCAD members before submission to DCCG.
Last but not the least, I wanted to thank Vint, Judith, Andrea and all others who worked with us to rejuvenate DCAD. It goes without saying that moving forward, myself and Judith would need the support of all DCAD members to make IGF and digital environments accessible for persons with disabilities.
Best,
Dr. Muhammad Shabbir,
Coordinator, DCAD,

I propose to use the governance document of Internet Standards, Security and Safety (IS3) Coalition which is available here:
https://is3coalition.org/docs/dc-isss-governance-document-april-2021/
as model and evolve governance document of DCAD. I therefore would request you to familiarize yourself with this document prior to the meeting so we can discuss this during the meeting and save time. I also call for volunteers to draft the governance document of DCAD.
3. Appointing a leader for DCAD.
I hereby also announce a call for nominations of DCAD Chair/coordinator. Any DCAD member can nominate themselves or others for this position prior to or during the meeting. Given the availability of time, we would discuss following points:

b. Volunteers to draft DCAD code of conduct.
Any DCAD member can propose additional topics for the agenda and we will put those under AOB. but, keep in mind that given the time constraints, we may not have enough time to discuss and may have to append those to the next meeting.

Subject: [DCAD] Extra Ordinary Meeting of DCAD
Dear DCAD Members,
Lately, the DCAD has been quite silent and the result has been that in 2022 there was no representation of DCAD in IGF. In our understanding this has been due to mainly because of lack of leadership, dearth of activeness of DCAD members and its governance structure. We (Myself, Shabbir, Peter, Judy, and Lidia) have been thinking and discussing this issue amongst and others as well. in this context, myself and Shabbir talked to some other DCs and found that we need to change our governance model as well as find new coordinator(s).
To discuss this and decide a future plan of action, we feel that an extraordinary meeting of DCAD is necessary. So, please use this Doodle to mark your availability for date/time you can attend an online meeting through Zoom. Kindly mark as many options as you can and we’ll pick the most popular time.
https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/e36mx4Ad
This doodle will remain open till 12:00 UTC on 25th February.
We would have 2 point agenda:
1. Deciding on a Governance model.
2. Appointing a leader for DCAD;
I and Shabbir will also present a report on our findings and conclusions based on our discussions with other DCs.
I would like to propose Dr. Muhammad Shabbir <https://www.internetsociety.org/author/shabbir/> to chair this extraordinary meeting of DCAD. If someone has objection to this proposal, or to Dr. Shabbir chairing the call, please do let us know. We will be arranging for human captioning for this call.
Best,
Judith Hellerstein
